Gerard was driving through a small village in Italy, his elbows resting on the steering wheel as he expertly rolled a cigarette. As he puffed on the smoke, he navigated the narrow streets with ease. After a while, it became clear that we were heading up a mountain pass. Gerard, now working on his second cigarette, told me that this was his favorite drive in all of southern Europe. I sat in the passenger seat, taking in the sights and sounds of Gerard's everyday truck life, capturing it all from a front row perspective.

With two elbows on the wheel, he rolled a cigarette while driving through a small narrow street in a village somewhere in Italy. He lit the cigarette. After a while of driving through that small village, it became clear that we were going up the mountain pass. Gerard, rolling his second cigarette, said that this mountain pass was his favorite drive-through in the south of Europe.

This describes one everyday-trucklife-situation of Gerard. I captured moments of his life, his environment, fully authentic from the front-row-passenger-seat perspective
