While living in Kuala Lumpur, I sought to connect with locals my own age to fully immerse myself in the culture. I was fortunate enough to meet a group of close friends who invited me on a trip to the coast of the South China Sea, a journey that took us two days by car. This experience gave me the opportunity to see Malaysia through the lens of Malay culture and gain a deeper understanding of the country through my friends' perspectives.
