The human species is growing, wildlife declining. The way we live on this planet endangers the life of a number of species. The one species which is especially precious for our ecosystem is the bee. Bees suffer from our conventional system of agriculture. How can we encourage the government to implement regulations that protect them?

One of the most influential people in this field is Carola Schouten: the head of the ministry of agriculture in the Netherlands and member of the Dutch religious party ChristenUnie. Christianity is one of her main personal values, she once said: "I take the bible very seriously and I read it every night before I go to sleep."

The Bee bible targets Carola Schouten and other religious people by reminding them of the importance of bees. It uses quotes from the bible that relate to bees and their importance. In this way Carola Schouten is being confronted with her responsibility to protect wildlife through her personal belief, which makes the bee bible a very strong communication tool.
